Fulcrum have constructed the rim of the Racing Zero wheels using a lightweight aluminium which has been triple milled in order to further reduce the weight of the rim, whilst also ensuring they retain the maximum level of rigidity and strength. This careful construction has created a very reactive wheel that transfers every piece of power to the road for a more impressive performance. Fulcrum uniquely have also introduced differentiated rim heights between the rear and front wheels,
using 26mm for the front wheel and 30mm on the rear wheel. This careful design ensures that the front wheel handles perfectly while the rear effective transfer power to the road.
The Fulcrum Racing Zero also features ultra aero aluminium spokes, with variable section, these spokes offer the perfect level of tension in order to eliminate any flex. While their aero design, coupled with the aerodynamic profile and Dynamic BalanceTM system promises that riders will enjoy a stable ride even in stronger crosswinds.
The hub body of the Fulcrum Racing Zero wheelset have been constructed using carbon in order to further reduce the overall weight of the wheels, but also to ensure maximum lateral stiffness. The hubs are fitted with ceramic USB bearings, which ensure the Fulcrum Racing Zero wheels require very little maintenance and are extremely hard-wearing. While the oversized flange on the driveside only further enhances the torsional stiffness of the wheels making them extremely reactive.
Weighing approximately 1460 grams in total the Fulcrum Racing Zero are relatively light compared to most other aluminium wheels on the market today. Some testers were impressed with these wheels, especially at the speeds they reach, while others said they were arguably one of the best aluminium wheels they’d tested.
